The first similar to the up-to-date version of roulette appeared in 1720 and was known "roly-poly". Then this game was prohibited in 1739 by the law. Despite the ban it was later brought back to life but was known as "Even-Odd". During the next fifty years the roulette had been changing, improving thus it modified into the present variant of the game.
